I got this for my cocker spaniel, he has severe allergies and his skin can go from great to awful over night if he eats the wrong thing! The vet had him on a prescription diet and it was costing way to much so I slowly starting using this and he has had NO issues with his skin from the food! Both my dogs love this food and I give them the soft as well as crunchy. I have been very happy with my choice!Try quite a few dog foods and my dog continued to have food related issues.. Switched over to map to Merrick's and her issues slowly started to go away. The key is limited ingredients. It's now been a couple of months and she's doing great.We have 2 dogs that eat this food. One is a 50lb Shiba Inu/Australian Cattle Dog mix and the other is a 35lb Boxer/Beagle/Staffordshire Terrier mix. The bigger one has food allergies and we have tried a ton of different foods. All of them were grain free, limited ingredients and poultry free. He's allergic to chicken. This is the ONLY food that actually stopped him from having a reaction. I think that the other brands use chicken byproducts or chicken fat and label it as something else otherwise I'm not sure why he was still having a reaction to those foods and neither does the vet. Anyway, this has been the best so far and he just loves it. Both of the dogs do. It's got a fishy smell which I find that usually the stinkier the food or treat, the more the dogs like it. If you do Subscribe and Save on this, you can save a few dollars each time but either way, $64.98 (at the time of this review) is a good price for this high quality dog food.Good quality dry food with limited ingredients that don’t mess with my baby’s digestion.As a parent to a dog with food allergies this is a lifesaver of food. The only reduction in stars is amazons use of shippers as they lost 2 packages in a row from orders and I had to rush out to the stores and buy more food before my pet ran out. As anyone who knows the struggle finding your brand it of course meant 4 stores and a lot of wasted time and effort.Was looking for a limited ingredient food for our dog. This salmon diet is great... almost out, need to order more.It’s allergy friendly for my old pups and they love it. After being on Merrick for over a year they’ve lost weight and their coats are beautiful.Limited ingredients so you know what pup is ingesting. Highest quality and price that goes with it but have been feeding this to 2 German Shepherds for years. Their coats are gorgeous and no allergies or tummy problems. Smallish kibbles so use puzzle bowl if you have a food guzzler.
